WATER BAPTISM

Picture

What is Water Baptism?

Water baptism is a significant spiritual event. It’s a declaration to both the physical and spiritual worlds that “you have decided to follow Jesus !”  It’s a complete and total identification with Him.  It’s an act of faith that says “just as Jesus died … so also my “old” sin-filled life has died and therefore buried.  But more than that … just as Jesus rose from the dead … you as a new believer, emerge into a “new life” in Christ, empowered by God to live in total victory. (Colossians 2:12)
You should expect for “old” things like addictions, depression, fear etc to be “broken off” your life, and replaced with peace, strength, joy and His Holy Spirit power.

Baptism is a very special time in which God puts His stamp of approval on you as His child, just as he did when Jesus was baptised.  (Matthew 3:16-17)

Do I have to go under the water?

“Baptise” is the English word for the Greek word “baptizo”, which means to dip, immerse or submerge.  The Bible tells us that when Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist, He was completely immersed in the river.  In Acts 8:36-39, Philip baptised an Ethiopian army officer.  Both of them went “into the water”, and then “came out of the water.”  The reason we are fully immersed is because we fully identify with Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Am I ready to be Baptised?

If you have acknowledged the sin of your past, repented and accepted God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ … YOU ARE READY NOW.  In Acts 2:41, people were baptised “the same day”!  In Acts 8:12, 37-38, it was “when they believed”.  In Acts 16:33, it was “the same hour.”

When can I get Water Baptised?

You may wish to bring a towel and a change of clothes to change into afterwards.
Please feel free to invite your family members and friends along to witness this wonderful event in your life.  They are more than welcome to take photo’s of the occasion.
We are so excited for what God is doing in your life, and If you have any questions, please ask.  Ps Tony - 0439 441 303
